Can You Shoot 410 Out Of 45long Colt Barrel

suppdequivulpuper 2020. 10. 26. 12:11

YES you can shoot a.45 L as many times as you want to out of a.410 gauge. The rifle is plenty sturdy enough to shoot that shell, and actually I've seen kits that sell an adapter from 12 gauge to.410 rifled that is made for both.410 and.45 long. Does the cobray model d 45 shoot 410 and 45? You can shoot 45 Long Colt or.410 shot shells with this weapon. 45 ACP rounds will not work properly. What is the use of grip safety on 45 caliber? What is the use of grip safety on 45 caliber pistol? Can a 410 shot gun shoot any other rounds? Typically, no. Aug 26, 2004 I just got a New England Arms 410 pardner for my son, I've been told you can shoot 45 long colt in one, which is legal for deer in Okla. This one is chambered for 3' 410 and has a 26' barrel, The chamber is extremely thick. Dec 13, 2009 It should be marked either 3' or 2.5' on the barrel, all of them I've seen are 3' chambers. The choke stays in for the.410 and comes out for the.45 Long Colt.

some guns can shot both colt 45 long and .410. I am not sure about the pardner. Your better off with a .410 slug if properly choked.

The short answer is NO, it would be unsafe. The standard bore diameter of a 410 is as expected 0.410 inches in diameter with constriction down to ~0.375 inch if your gun is choked about full choke . The 45 colt is 0.451-.454 inches in diameter. That is significantly larger than the bore of a 410 shotgun it would be unsafe and might blow the gun up.
There are a few guns (most notable the T/C contender) that are made to chamber both cartridges but if you were to measure the bore it would be a bore for the 45 colt not the smaller 410 bore.

Stick with the 410 slug. I'll be safer.

CS is right. I just looked real quick and the 45 colt only has a bit more than 400 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, a 410 slug has a bit over 600ft-lbs at the muzzle. The 45 shoot a lot heavier bullet so it will carry that energy down range longer but under 50yds the 410 slug is probably a bit better. Certainly safer to fire in a 410. I used my Winchester 9410 this past year for deer season with good success.

Thanks guys for all the info, I think I'll keep it safe and shoot only slugs and not 45 long colt. You have all been a big help.

Listen to what's been said above!
Don't endanger yourself by trying to force a .452 caliber bullet through a .410 'caliber' tube! Pressures will spike to levels never designed for the .410 barrel and maybe you'll create an instant grenade!
When shooting a .410 through a .45 Colt barrel, it isn't a perfect scenario, but at least you're only 'trying to force' a .410-size bullet or payload through a larger-size ('over bore') .452 caliber barrel. Pressures remain acceptable.

Okie,
Check out www.hr1891.com and look at NEF's Barrel Exchange Program. You can get a .45 Colt / .410 barrel fitted to your son's gun, although it might not shoot .410's worth a damn! (IMO) I had an NEF 'Survivor' .45C/.410, but wasn't impressed with its performance when shooting 3' #6's in the .410 and got rid of it. The NEF Survivor has a (perfectly legal) 16 1/4' rifled barrel for shooting the .45 Colt, but I never tried anything but the shotshell in mine. Check out that site.

Uh, no. And please don't ask the same about a .41 mag.
